			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So you can&#8217;t get up to Whistler by regular means this beautiful long weekend due to the rock slide, but there&#8217;s still time to have fun and enjoy Whistler this summer.   Here is a list of events to check out for the rest of August:</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t forget about the weekend<a title="Whistler Farmer Market" href="http://www.whistlerfarmersmarket.org/" target="_blank"> Farmer&#8217;s Market </a>at Blackcomb side, every Sunday until Canadian Thanksgiving weekend (mid October).  Tasty artisan foods and live cooking demos by Whistler&#8217;s Chefs. Local artists, musicians and face painting. Lots of fun and activities for families and children.</p>
<p><strong>Whistler Art Workshops on the Lake &#8211; Beginner Acrylics</strong><br />
<em> August 6, 2008 &#8211; August 8, 2008</em><br />
This class will teach some basic techniques in painting acrylics on canvas and is suitable for students at the beginner to intermediate level. For more information on the Whistler Art Workshops on the Lake, visit the Whistler Arts Council web site.</p>

This workshop will delve into the effective use of light and pattern, and focus on the inspiration and ideas for the painting through preliminary studies before proceeding with a finished work. The second annual &#8220;Campground C&#8221; country-rock music festival will feature a hot list of artists performing all day long, plus a ton of fun activities for the whole family. More information.</p>
<p><strong>K9 Wine &amp; Dine for WAG</strong><br />
<em> August 23, 2008</em><br />
Whistler Animals Galore (WAG) and the Hilton Whistler Resort &amp; Spa host the 6th Annual K9 Wine and Dine on Saturday August 23, 2008. Come out and support WAG and its efforts to provide quality care and second chances to animals in need in Whistler. The event features a sumptuous three-course meal, as well as dinner for your four-legged friend, auctions with great prizes and more.
